I’m a registered counsellor seeing adults online across Australia and in person in Melbourne. I work with people who are used to holding everything together, even when something doesn’t feel right. You might be meeting every deadline and showing up for everyone, while feeling flat, exhausted or on edge underneath. It might be burnout, functional depression or anxiety, or you may not know what it is yet, and you don’t need to before we talk.

My practice is integrative, so I draw on different ways of working, including conversation and practices that work with the body, such as breathwork and tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques).

I’m also trauma-informed, so you stay in control of what you share and when. My practice is neuro-affirming too, which means I won’t treat the way your mind works as something to fix.

We work as partners, deciding together on the pace and what feels right for you. If something isn’t helping, tell me, and we can change direction or try something else.

My Story

For years, I kept telling people I was fine. I grew up in Germany until I was nine, when my father, a single dad, emigrated to Australia with me and my neurodivergent brother. I took on responsibility from a young age and became very good at being the capable one.

I also bring lived experience of functional depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, and of learning that being highly sensitive isn’t a flaw. Therapy has been an important part of my life for many years, and it still is. Alongside all of this, I’ve built a career and a full life that I love.

My path to becoming a counsellor wasn’t a straight line either. I studied complementary therapies and holistic counselling in 1995 and trained in applied counselling in the early 2000s, then paused to build a long career in marketing, advertising and business development.

Being made redundant at 50 led me to coaching and eventually back to counselling, and today I offer both as separate services.

All of this has made me gentle with people who find it hard to ask for help, though your story is your own and our sessions will stay focused on you.

Outside of this work, I live with my partner and our two Staffies, and I love art, culture and travel.

If any of this feels familiar, send me a message to book a free 15-minute chat.
